Aerith will be based upon the Crisis Core timeline, ie: she will be a teenager and have no recollections on what happened in FFVII.
Details:
Aerith from her former life was the Aerith we all knew and loved. She was the flower girl of Midgar, the last Ancient in existance, and the one who helped Cloud and his friends defeat Sephiroth's Meteor and bring peace to the planet. She was the one who called upon the power of the Lifestream to heal Geostigma, and she brought Cloud back to life along with Zack after being killed by Loz and Yazoo once Sephiroth had been defeated the second time.
However, despite having died years ago and still living on as a spirit inside of the Lifestream, it seems that Aerith has been given a second chance. She has been brought back to life, however she isn't the same person she had been. Brought back at the tender age of 17, Aerith has no memory of what had happened previously in her existance. Her last day involved the strangest feeling of sadness, something that felt like something she had cared for deeply had been cruelly snatched away from her. The last thing she remembers is looking up at the clouds through the holes of rotted wood in the ceiling of her church, clutching her hands to her heart.
Whether she suffered during the transition is unknown - Aerith cannot remember anything past that point in her life.
Now, wearing the pink and red outfit she had chosen to surprise Zack in when he returned home (he was always bugging her to try something other than her usual white summer dress), Aerith is pretty much the same as she always had been prior to finding out about Zack's death. She still retains the pretty green eyes, the small full mouth, the clear complexion and her personally, which remains bright, cheerful and carefree. Aerith is known among family and friends to be extremely good natured, forgiving and patient. Always confident with a smile on her face, it is rare to see her having a bad day. Her moods are usually contagious - most who spend a few hours with her usually feel lighter and happier themselves.
While chatty and cheerful on the outside, Aerith remains rather withdrawn and sensitive on the inside. Despite the Aerith coming to terms with her talents and unusual abilities in Final Fantasy VII, Aerith in this reality has chosen to ignore and shun it all. However, it would seem that during the transition to Nuadoria, Aerith has lost her ability to hear the voice of the planet. Only time will tell how she deals with this issue, and only time will tell if any other abilities have taken over. (To throw some details in, Aerith will become nothing special - she will basically lose her Ancient abilities and become just another person with average senses).
Aerith is still waiting for Zack to come home and is still nurturing her flower patch in the old church. Waking up in this reality will warp many things for her...but essentially, she will become confused and disoriented as she comes across people who claim to have known her in the past, yet she has no recollection of them, as well as with trying to adapt to her new home.
